McColl’s have been a customer for over 10 years. Over this time we have continuously offered high customer service levels exceeding the contracted detail. This includes the development of bespoke reports, delivered weekly to provide them with the information they need to run their business effectively. More recently we have been providing support in their acquisition of a large number of sites. Our service has achieved a seamless experience for the customer, allowing them to focus on their core business activities whilst we managed every aspect of the growth including COT’s, contract registrations, supplier consolidation, MOP and DC migration and cost and consumption forecasting and accrual. We adapted our internal process and resource to cope with the additional work involved in their project whilst maintaining customer confidentiality, proving ourselves as a truly trusted partner. We work alongside McColl’s on a number of their initiatives including charity sponsorship and the development of an app, and continue to be integral in their business plans.
RESULT: BIU’s recommendation that Martin McColl negotiate the renewal of their electricity contract for one 24 month period saved the business in excess of £3.5 million in the first 12 months alone. Adopting a risk managed purchasing strategy, BIU has been able to take advantage of the current market conditions. Costs are in excess of £8 million per annum, which is a saving of more than £1 million, with 100% energy hedged.
